- The Challenge:
- Funki is a social networking/interaction application for Japanese university students. Due to the site's complexity, users had a hard time making sense of it all. The Funki team asked us to tame the beast and craft a more aesthetically pleasing, more intuitive interface. But first we had to learn how Japanese users' habits and preferences differed from those of Westerners.
- Our Solution:
- After acquainting ourselves with Japanese user conventions and preferences, we worked to refine the brand aesthetic, and concentrated on crafting a more intuitive page architecture. We introduced consistent interface conventions for the many sections and interactive tools throughout the site. Then we crafted a standards-based page markup structure and CSS scheme to provide a consistent experience across the spectrum of browsers.
